ENVE CARBON FIBER MOUNTAIN STEM
WHAT IS IT?
A lightweight, full-carbon mountain stem optimized for the modern mountain bike geometry and ride style.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Mountain bikers looking to optimize their cockpit by saving weight and improving on-trail ride characteristics
WHY DID WE MAKE IT?
We?ve wanted this product for years. We?ve scrapped more prototypes of the ENVE Mountain Stem than any other product in ENVE history. Why? Because we have high performance expectations of this product and it had to be just right. We believed we could create a sub 100 gram carbon fiber stem capable of addressing all mountain applications and we?re proud to say that we've done it.
While we won’t go so far as to say that we are the only carbon mountain bike stem on the market, the ENVE Mountain Stem is one of a kind in the aftermarket. While carbon stems have been used for cross-country racing for years this is the first aftermarket execution that is developed for modern long travel trail and enduro mountain bikes. Aside from being unique in this category the stem isn’t carbon fiber just for the sake of carbon fiber. The ENVE Mountain Stem is lighter than the alloy options on the market without any sacrifice to strength. In most cases an alloy stem in the same weight category doesn’t pass our internal qualifications in terms of strength, durability, and stiffness. For these reasons the ENVE Mountain Stem has been introduced to the aftermarket. Each Mountain Stem is produced in Ogden, UT and made of 100% uni-directional carbon fiber. All bladder materials are removed from the body of the stem to ensure that the part is as efficient as possible. The faceplate is cold-forged aluminum for unsurpassed clamping reliability and anti-slip properties. All stem hardware is titanium. On the trail the stem is engineered to dampen vibration and mimic the feedback frequencies and feel of ENVE’s mountain handlebars.
